What's New > New Name and Logo

FSA has a new name and logo

Family Service Association of Toronto becomes Family Service Toronto

We are the same great organization since 1914; our name has changed but we have a rich history of service to the community.

Our name's history:

Neighbourhood Workers’ Association of Toronto (1914-1962)
Family Service Association of MetroToronto (1962-2005)
Family Service Association of Toronto (2005-2008)
Family Service Toronto (2008)

Our new name is more succinct and true to our work – we are in service to our community, and we are not an association.

We wanted to remember our history as we change our name and update our logo. We did a lot of consultation within and outside the organization to find our how people see us and how we want to project our own image. This two year process brought forward wonderful aspirations – we found our strengths and want to build upon the best of what we are.

Our new logo was developed with the aspirational ideas in mind: the green is a spring green, hopeful and bright. We call the logo a “People Tree” -  grounded but growing, sincere, modern, and inclusive. It also illustrates relatedness and our interconnectedness as well as  the multifaceted nature of our work.

We emphasize our guiding principles in bringing forward our working tagline: “For people. For change.” We are reminded that FST is all about people, and our abilities to move forward toward as strong and healthy individuals and families, and together toward social justice and healthy communities.

Over the next few months, we'll continue our rebranding process. We will change the website domain name to www.familyservicetoronto.org and its look to reflect the changes.
