Workshops general information:

Location: Lawrence Heights Community Health Centre (LHCHC)
Time: 11:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Cost: No fee
Childcare: available on site

Workshops and Group Dates:

Dec. 2, 2006 - Workshop about violence (presented by Adan Habiba, counsellor at FSA Toronto - Violence Against Women program)

Dec. 16, 2006 - Workshop about diabetes (presented by Lalisha Burris, nutritionist at LHCHC)

January 13, 2007 - Healthy Eating (presented by Natalia Udarchik, community health worker at LHCHC)

January 27, 2007 - Female Genital Mutilation (group session with input from the participants)

February 10, 2007 - Common Health Problems (presented by Maleda Mulu, community health worker at LHCHC)

February 24, 2007- Peace Building (presented by Selam Peacebuilding Network)

March 10, 2007 - Workshop about Parenting and Children Act presented by the Children Aid Society

March 24, 2007, 12:30 p.m. : Last day of the program and Graduation Ceremony (at Lawrence West Community Centre, 5 Replin Street - North of Lawrence West Subway).

Participants will celebrate Horn of Africa Day and receive certificates for completing the program.

The youth group will join the women group and present a "talent show" with singing and dancing.
