Lan NGUYEN, Senior Vice-President

Lan Nguyen joined the City of Toronto in November 2007. As the director of Business Enablement and Client Services in the Information and Technology Division, she has the mandate to develop partnerships and IT innovations across city's 44 business divisions, with other government jurisdictions, industry, academia and business associations to enable city’s eCity agenda implementation.
Prior to her appointment with the City, Lan was the principal of ICITE Inc, an established Canadian consultancy firm specializes in international development and international education.
Until 2005, Lan was the Vice President of Partnerships and Innovations at Centennial College of Applied Arts and Technology where she had responsibility for setting the College’s IT strategic directions in support of Centennial’s academic mission. She was instrumental in developing successful industry partnerships that resulted in major capital contributions for the new Science and Technology Campus.
Lan held various executive and management positions with the Ontario government for 25 years where she led many province-wide strategic consolidations and service renewal initiatives. She hosted regular Ontario government showcases to international delegates and was regular speaker in international symposiums held in Thailand, China, Singapore and Vietnam.
She was the founding chair of the GTAnet, a non-profit organization with memberships from 5 GTA universities and 4 colleges. She has been actively involved in the health sector through volunteering activities as a board member of the Central Community Access Centre, the Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care.
Lan served as the founding President of the Canada Vietnam Business Council in 1995 and was involved in many community board activities with the Vietnamese Association of Toronto. Her dedication to poverty reduction and education has extended through her own charity work to build a school in the rural region of central Vietnam. Lan was a recipient of the Ontario Volunteer Award for her 25 years of volunteering.
Ms. Nguyen holds an Executive MBA from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University.
