Why you should support Family Service Toronto
For over 94 years FST has been providing critical and pioneering work in counselling, advocacy and support. Some of the 13,000 people and families we serve annually are among the most vulnerable and marginalized in Toronto. Still others come to FST for the one-of-a-kind expertise, resources and linkages we have built. Your financial support goes directly to enabling us to continue our work in counselling, advocacy and support and it will ensure we can continue to meet the ever-changing needs of the citizens of Toronto well into the next century.
FST serves people and families. (FST defines "family" as two or more people, whether living together or apart, related by blood marriage, adoption or commitment to care for one another).
We are staunchly committed to a policy of anti-oppression. This means that we see opportunity in being the most inclusive organization we can be; we include and maximize everyone’s potential, including clients, staff and volunteers; and we have a vision to free our environment from oppressive systems and attitudes and that we value and seek to integrate diverse views, behaviours and attitudes.
The impact of our programs and services improves life, removes barriers and reduces future challenges for children, women, men, seniors and youth. These results mean:
