With a spectrum of people, services and innovative responses to the needs of our communities, Family Service Association of Toronto is a virtual kaleidoscope of constantly moving and adaptable pieces which together make up a sum even greater than its parts.
Our Values:
We will always put clients and communities first and strive for
excellence in
service delivery.
• We will promote diversity, learning, volunteerism and leadership
development
with our staff and those who use our services.
• We are committed to working in a caring, open and collaborative
manner.
• We will be accountable for the effective use of our human and
financial resources.
HOW we do it:
“A nimble organization that develops programs and services in response
to the needs of an ever-changing city”
Anita Lapidus, FST board president
FST touches lives through individual and family counselling, advocacy efforts, group programs, educational workshops, outreach, conference presentations, convening public meetings, community planning activities, research interviews and focus groups.

Counselling is a key component of all programs.
“Individual and group counselling is at the heart of what
we do…helping us to change and even save lives.”
Peter Crosby, Director of Programs and Services

Prevention activities include educational workshops, service consultations and mutual support groups.
Community building activities include outreach, community
planning, presentations, convening public meetings, capacity building with

Our Community Building efforts are guided by an anti-oppression
framework and strive to be innovative, dynamic and inclusive of
people
from diverse populations.
